Ed McLaughlin

Dr. Edward McLaughlin is the Robert G. Tobin Professor of Marketing, director of the undergraduate business program and director of the food industry management program at Cornell. He received his master’s degree at the University of Vermont and his Ph.D. at Michigan State University.

At Cornell, Dr. McLaughlin teaches courses in the areas of marketing, strategy and international marketing and is the author or co-author of three books and numerous research articles. He was voted the College’s Outstanding Professor by the seniors of the college and has received several national awards for distinguished teaching and research.

Dr. McLaughlin has had extensive international experience, having spent four years in Africa with the U.S. State Department, the United Nations and the World Bank. He has been a professor of marketing at the Nitra Economic Institute in Slovakia and he served as a marketing consultant for The Albert Heijn Supermarket Company in The Netherlands. He is a professor of retailing at Nyenrode University, The Netherlands School of Business and teaches retailing at IESEG in Lille France.
