At Cornell
Sims turned in an excellent first season with the Big Red. A backstroke specialist, she showed talent in freestyle and butterfly as well. On the season’s top time list, Sims ranked sixth in the 100 fly, fifth in the 50 free, fourth in the 100 free, second in the 100 back and first in the 200 back. She set the Cornell school record in the 200 back at the Ivy League Championship meet. On the team’s career top 10 list, Sims is also ranked sixth in the 100 back.

Prior to Cornell
A two-time All-America candidate at Byram Hills HS, Sims was team captain in her senior year and was a five-time all-section pick and letter winner. She did her club swimming for Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics, qualifying for the USA Short Course Nationals and Summer Junior Nationals. Sims was a three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Personal
Danielle Sims is the daughter of Greg and Brigitte Sims and has an older sister. She is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
