At Cornell
Hohwald was part of the backstroke group in her sophomore season for the Big Red. She competed in the medley relay and both backstrokes at almost every dual meet, with a freestyle event mixed in every so often. Hohwald has a tremendous amount of untapped talent and is beginning to make changes that have had a major impact on her stroke. At the Ivies, she won the 200 back C final with a blazing 2:01.89, a new school record time that would have also won the B final and finished fifth in the A final. She also finished second in the 100 back C final in the with the seventh best time in Cornell history. Howland also ranks tenth on Cornell’s list for 500 free and was a member of the second best 400 medley relay squad.
At Downington
A three-time state qualifier at Downingtown East HS, Hohwald was a four-time high school All-American. She was also a YMCA national qualifier.
Personal
Kathleen M. Hohwald is the daughter of John and Joan Hohwald, and she has an older brother, Stephen, who graduated from Cornell.
