As a junior (2019-20)
• Competed at eight meets for the Big Red as a junior, including the Ivy League Championships.
• Scored points in the 50-freestyle, 100-butterfly, and 200-butterfly at Ivies, recording lifetime personal-bests and cracking Cornell’s all-time top-10 list in all three events.
• Made the B Final of the 100-butterfly at the conference meet, placing 14th overall with the third-fastest time (54.36) in Big Red history.
• Made the C Final of the 50-freestyle (23.35) and 200-butterfly (2:04.13) at Ivies, with both times ranking seventh on Cornell’s all-time top-10 list.
• Was a vital member of four of the Big Red’s five relays at the conference meet, helping Cornell’s 400-freestyle relay (No. 2, 3:23.25), 200-freestyle relay (No. 3, 1:32.73),
400-medley relay (No. 6, 3:44.48), and 200-medley relay (No. 10, 1:43.03) all post top-10 marks in the Big Red record books.
• Made the A Final of the 100-butterfly at Akron’s Zippy Invitational, finishing fifth overall in 55.19.
• Also made the B Final of the 100-freestyle and 200-butterfly at the Zippy Invitational.
• Notched seven top-five individual finishes at dual meets over the course of the season.
• Runner-up in the 100-butterfly at Ivy League duals against Columbia and Brown, helping Cornell defeat the Bears.
• Finished third in the 100-butterfly at Cornell’s Ivy League tri-meet against Dartmouth and Harvard.
As a sophomore (2018-19)
• Competed in three events at the Ivy League Championship, scoring in the 100 butterfly with a 17th place effort.
• Her time in the 100 fly ranks No. 4 all-time at Cornell (55.17).
• Swam the third leg of the 200 medley relay that ranks as the fifth-fastest in school history (1:42.34).
• Also competed in the 200 fly and the 50 free.
• Runner-up in the 100 fly at the Bomber/Ithaca Winter Invitational with a time of 56.93.
• Placed third in the 50 free, the 100 free and the 100 fly against Bryant, St. Bonaventure, and Yale, respectively.
• Finished fifth in the 100 fly against Dartmouth/Harvard.
As a freshman (2017-18)
• Swam the third leg of the 200 medley relay team at the Ivy League Championship, helping the Big Red to the second-fastest time in school history (1:41.76).
• Also competed in the 50 and 100 free and the 100 fly.
• Had three top three individual event finishes in dual meets.
• Placed second in the 100 fly at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational.
Prior to Cornell
• Earned four all-state awards in a total of 14 events while attending Wayzata HS.
• Won state titles three times in the 200 free relay.
• Graduated with school records in the 200 free, 100 fly and 200 medley relay.
• Four-time all-conference honoree and a five-year varsity competitor.
• Captained the team as a senior.
• Nominated as the Minnesota Class AA Girls Athlete of the Year.
• Won state long course titles in the 200 free and 200 medley relays while competing for the Aquajets National Swim Team.
Personal
• Alexis Marie Schaaf is the daughter of Christopher and Jean Schaaf and has a twin sister, Amber.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
