Cornell University Athletics

As a senior (2017-18)
• Took 15th in the mile and was 19th in the 1,000 at the Ivy League Championship.
• Won the 1,000 free in a dual meet victory over St. Bonaventure.
• Had five top five finishes in dual meets during the year.
• Shared the team's Overall Achievement Award with classmate Micaela Luders at the annual postseason banquet.

As a junior (2016-17)
• One of the conference’s top distance freestylers, scoring in both the 1,000 and 1,650 free at the 2017 Ivy League Championships.
• Had the fourth-fastest time at Cornell in the 1,650 free, taking 13th overall in 16:54.42.
• Posted a lifetime-best 10:09.89 in the 1,000 free, good for 17th overall and the fifth-best Cornell time.
• Took third in the 1,000 free in a dual meet with Columbia.
• Finished sixth in the mile at the Akron Zippy Invitational.
• Elected co-captain of the 2017-18 season.

As a sophomore (2015-16)
• Posted the fifth-fastest mile in school history with a 16:59.11 at the 2016 Ivy League Championships, a time that shaved 10 full seconds off her previous best time.
• Scored in the 1,000 free with the No. 4 all-time mark at Cornell (10:09.94).
• Was second in the 200 butterfly in the dual meet win over Colgate and was the runner-up at 1,000 yards against Brown.
• Had the team’s second-fastest times of the season in both the 1,000 and 1,650 free.

As a freshman (2014-15)
• Was part of the Ivy League championship team, scoring in the 400 IM, 1000 free and 1650 free.
• Finished 15th at the Ivy meet in the 1000 free.
• Had four top three finishes during the season in dual meet competition.
• Posted the team’s second-fastest time of the year in the 1000 and 1650 free races and the third-fastest time in the 400 IM.

Prior to Cornell
• Thayer competed in swimming and diving, cross country and track and field while attending The Rivers School.
• Named a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
• Was a two-year captain of the cross country team and captained track as a senior.
• Was selected to receive the Priscilla W. Strauss Athletic Prize in her final year.

Personal
• Elizabeth Evelyn Thayer is the daughter of Peter and Theresa Thayer and has two sisters.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
