At Cornell
Senior Meg Farrington comes off a very successful junior campaign and was elected to serve as a team co-captain in her final year. Her time of 2:01.71 last year in the 200 backstroke earned her the school record in that event, while her showing in the 400 individual medley was also the best on the team and was good enough for third on the school's all-time list. Farrington reached the finals of the 200 back competition at the Ivy championships, scoring valuable points for the Big Red last year, and is expected to have a very strong senior season.
At Providence Country Day
As a senior, Farrington served as captain of her team at Providence CDS, was the Rhode Island state champion in the 100-yard back and was named the Cox Rhode Island female swimmer of the year. She also received Scholastic All-America honors in both 2006 and 2007. Personal: Marguerite E. Farrington is the daughter of AJ and Kate Farrington, and she has two younger sisters.
