Biography
At Cornell
Thiessen once again turned in a very solid season for the Cornell women’s team. She attained best times in her specialty events, the 100 and 200 fly and proved to be a team leader for the Big Red. On the season’s best time list, Thiessen ranked 10th in the 100 free, fifth in the 100 fly and fourth in the 200 fly. Her performance in the 200 fly ranks her 10th all time on the team’s career top 10 list. Thiessen was the recipient of the Team Spirit Award and was elected by her teammates and the coaching staff as captain of the 2013-14 women’s team
Prior to Cornell
A 2010 NISCA All-American in both the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay, Rosalie Thiessen is a graduate of University HS, where her school's team was the C.I.F. Division I team champions. Thiessen served as her team's captain in 2010, and received USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors in both 2009 and 2010. Also swimming for the Irvine Aquazot Swim Club, she was a NCSA junior national meet qualifier in 2009 and 2010.
Personal
Rosalie Thiessen is the daughter of Doug Thiessen and Pauline Marquez, and she has one older and two younger sisters. She is enrolled in Cornell's College of Arts and Sciences.
