Biography
At Cornell
Part of a very talented freshman class last year, Sarah Icke held her own and turned in some very solid performances in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events for the Big Red. Her time in the 200 freestyle was good for 10th all-time at Cornell, and she was part of the school record-breaking 800 freestyle relay team. During the dual meet season, Icke turned in a valauble win in the 200 freestyle win vs. Colgate.
Prior to Cornell
Icke competed for the UBC Dolphins Swim Club, where she served as female captain in 2008-09. In 2008, she won two silvers and a bronze at the BC Short Provincial Championships. She was also a 2007 medalist at the Western Canadian Championships and was the team's 2006 youth most valuable swimmer. Icke was also a track star in high school, where she won best all around athlete at the Independent School Association Championships in 2007. The following year at Zone Championships, she was victorious in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m.
Personal
Sarah Amelia Icke is the daughter of John and Daniella Icke, and she has one younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
