Biography
At Cornell: After a great sophomore season, the future looks to be bright for Yan as she enters her junior year. After battling illness her freshman year, she came back strong and had all collegiate best times at the 2007 Ivy championships. Yan’s natural racing ability made her a go-to athlete in must-win relay situations. Her contributions to the team resulted in her being named MVP for the 2006-07 season. Yan hopes to build on this success next year by finaling at the Ivies and making her first individual national cut time. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
At Shenendehowa: A Speedo sectional and senior national qualifier at Shenendehowa HS, Yan holds four school records. She was named her team’s Most Valuable Swimmer for two consecutive years and was a sectional champion six times.
Personal: Sarah Lynn Yan is the daughter of Ryan and Julie Yan.
