Biography
Prior to Cornell
• Competed with the Greek National Team from 2016-2020.
• Ran a leg on the 4x100-meter relay team that holds the Greek U18 National Record.
• Former Greek U18 National Record holder in the 60-meter dash.
• Placed fifth in the 60-meter at the 2019 Balkan Indoor U20 Championships.
• Helped her medley relay team to a runner-up finish at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival, while finishing 15th in the 200-meter.
• Finished third in the 100-meter and the 4x100-meter relay at the 2018 Outdoor Balkan U18 Championship in Istanbul.
• Guided her medley relay team to a third-place finish at the 2018 International Gymnasiade U18, adding a 10th-place finish in the 100-meter.
Personal
• Markella Kalliopi Papandreou is the daughter of Evangelos Papandreou and Maria Tsiki and has an older brother.
• She is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business’ Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management.
