Holmes' up-to-date resultsAs a Junior (2014-15)Holmes continued to focus primarily on jumps as a junior, winning the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 2 1/2 inches at the indoor SPIRE Invitational, where she also finished fifth in the triple jump at 37-6. At Ivy League Indoor Heptagonals, she scored for Cornell with a sixth-place finish in the long jump (18-1 1/2) and added a ninth-place triple jump (38-1 1/4). Outdoors, she also competed in the 100 meter hurdles, running a seasonal-best 14.67 at the Upstate Challenge, where she also placed second in the long jump (18-11 3/4). She was a double scorer for the Big Red at Outdoor Heps, where she was sixth in the long jump (18-1 3/4) and fourth in the triple jump (39-4 1/2). She also competed at ECAC Championships in the long jump, finishing sixth with a jump of 18-11 3/4.
As a Sophomore (2013-14)The Big Red capitalized on Holmes’s impressive jumping skills her sophomore year. She competed at the Indoor Heps in the long jump, finishing 8
th at 5.41m, as well as the triple jump. She also finished 8
th place overall in the indoor pentathlon, with 5
th place event finishes in both the 60m hurdles and the long jump. Her success continued into the Outdoor Heps, this time reaching 5.57m in the long jump and 11.81m in the triple jump. Holmes was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team at the conclusion of the season.
As a Freshman (2012-13)Holmes had an excellent start to her Big Red career, competing in the multi events at the Ivy League championships indoors and outdoors. Indoors in the pentathlon, Holmes scored 3696 points to place third and score six points for the Big Red while also setting the Cornell freshman record in the event. At the Indoor ECAC Championship, she was 14th in the long jump. Outdoors, she was on the Big Red's first-place 4x100 Shuttle Hurdle Championship team, and she placed fifth in the heptathlon at the Outdoor Heps with 4,666 points, No. 2 all-time at Cornell. Her season concluded at the Outdoor ECACs with an 18th-place long jump. She had a season-best long jump of 19' 7" at the Outdoor Big Red Invitational in April. Holmes
was given the Marc Denault Award for the team's outstanding freshman at the year-end banquet.
Before CornellThe 2012 Gatorade track and field player of the year in New Hampshire, Holmes is her state’s top all-around athlete. She set a state record outdoors in the heptathlon, scoring 4,582 points, and has bests of 14.41 in the 100 hurdles, 44.69 in the 300 hurdles and 18’ 6 1/4” in the long jump. A many-time state champion, Holmes was third at the New Balance High school nationals with a best pentathlon total of 3,484.
