McCormick's up-to-date results
As a Senior (2015-16)
McCormick competed in three cross country races as a senior, posting a season-best 15th-place finish at the John Reif Memorial.
She continued to compete in the mid-distances and 4x800 relay on the track, placing second in the 1000 on the Cornell Sunday Inviatioal.
As a Junior (2014-15)
McCormick did not compete in any cross country events as a junior, but on the track, McCormick finished third in the 3000 (10:31.12) at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open. In the 3000 steeplechase, her 11:31.68 time at the Cornell Outdoor Invitational was good for second place and her 11:36.25 time at the Cornell Indoor Sunday Meet was good for third place.
As a Sophomore (2013-14)
McCormick chipped over a minute off her 5K time this season, starting the season with a time of 20:01.1 at the season-opening race against Army and finishing the season with a time of 18:58.0 at the Reif Memorial Run. She also placed 29th at the Anderson Invitational with a time of 19:22.7.
McCormick continued to contribute in the distance races during her second year, setting new career bests in both the 3000 and the 5000. She posted a 3
rd place finish in the 5000 at the Cortland Classic Invitational. The following week she set a personal best 3000 time of 10:26.05 to finish 8
th at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational. She concluded her season at the Cornell Outdoor Invitational, marking a personal best 5000 of 18:11.13 in a 13
th place finish.
As a Freshman (2012-13)
McCormick began her Big Red career with a 39th-place showing at the Army-Binghamton tri-meet. She followed that with a 72nd-place finish at the Yellowjacket Invitational in Rochester. Her year concluded when she finished 21st at the John Reif Memorial Run in Ithaca.
On the track, McCormick ran the mid distances and the 3K steeplechase throughout the season. She had a best time of 2:27.50 in the 800 and 5:25.03 in the mile. Toward the end of the season, she ran the steeplechase in her final five meets. She had a season best in that event at the Bison Outdoor Classic, running 11:19.93.
Before Cornell
A key member of the standout cross country and track program at Canandaigua Academy, McCormick was also among the best steeplechasers in New York state and qualified as an individual for the New York state meet indoors in the 3000 meters. McCormick has personal bests of 10:26 for 3K and 7:07 for the 2K steeplechase.
Personal
Kathleen Cantwell McCormick is the daughter of Kevin McCormick and Catherine Cantwell. She has three older brothers -- Matthew, Patrick and Nicholas -- and a sister, Meghan, who will be joining her on the Big Red cross country and track teams.
