At Cornell
One of the women's track captains for the 2009-10 season, Murdoch has been one of Cornell's top middle distance runners throughout her career. After suffering a freak ankle break over the winter break as a junior, she missed much of that season. Now healthy again, Murdoch is poised to pick up where she left off as a sophomore. She had an exceptional sophomore campaign and was voted the team's Most Improved Performer. After placing third in the Indoor ECAC Championships, she qualified for the NCAA regionals outdoors in the 800m and was a Heps scorer as well. She also anchored the 4x800m relay to a third-place showing in the outdoor ECACs. Three times all-East in her career, she ran the lead-off leg on the school freshman-record setting 4x800m in 2007.
At Ridgefield HS
Murdoch was a top relay performer on the nationally ranked Ridgefield squads.
Personal
Katie Murdoch is the daughter of Joseph and Jean Murdoch and has a younger brother.
