As a Junior (2013-14)Ziemian took 27 seconds off her 5K time this season, finishing with a time of 20:48.4 at the season-opening race against Army and finishing the season with a 20:21.2 finish at the Reif Memorial Run.
Ziemian followed the cross country season with a solid season on the track. She marked three new personal bests, competing in the mile, 3000, and 5000. She kicked off her season of bests at the Robert J. Kane Invitational, posting a best mile of 5:41.54 to finish 23
rd. She marked her best 5000 at the Cortland Classic Invitational, running an 18:41.03 to take 5
th place. Her top 3000 time of 11:00.56 came in a 17
th place finish at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational.
As a Sophomore (2012-13)Ziemian did not run cross country as a sophomore.
As a Freshman (2011-12)Ziemian ran in one cross country race in her first year with the Big Red. She finished the Yellowjacket Invitational in 71st place.
Before CornellZiemian was a four-time state qualifier for the Pennsylvania state cross country meet in high school. She was also a four-time varsity letter winner in both cross country and track in high school, earning a varsity letter every season. Zieman was named first-team Pennsylvania Heartland County Cross Country all-star her junior and senior year. She also lettered in basketball her freshman year.
PersonalMarina Anne Ziemian is the daughter of Ronald and Constance Ziemian. She has an older sister, Sophia, who runs for Duke University. She is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
