As a Senior (2016-17)
Golliday continued to be a point-getter in the pole vault for Cornell during her senior season, earning seven top five finishes while competing in both the indoor and outdoor Ivy League Track and Field Championships. Indoors, Golliday finished fourth at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational on a seasonal best 11’4.25” and replicated that finish at the Marc Deneault Memorial before placing 14th at indoor Heps. Outdoors, Golliday won the Ithaca College Tuesday meet (11’5.75”), placed third at the Cortland Classic Invitational and tied a career-best of 11’9.75” for fourth at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational. She placed 13th at outdoor Heps (11’8.5”).
As a Junior (2015-16)
Golliday competed in nine meets in the pole vault for the Big Red as a junior. She finished fifth at the Cornell Sunday Invitational (10’4”) and had a pair of seventh place finishes at the Robert J. Kane Invitational (10’4”) and the April Cabin Fever Indoor Invitational (10’4”).
As a Sophomore (2014-15)
Continuing to compete exclusively in the pole vault her sophomore year, Golliday set a personal best at the Deneault Memorial, clearing 11 feet, 9 3/4 inches. She finished eighth at Ivy League Indoor Heptagonals (11-5 3/4) and 11
th at Outdoor Heps (11-3 3/4).
As a Freshman (2013-14)
Golliday had a solid freshman campaign, focusing her efforts in the vault. She was a consistent performer, with only two meets where she didn’t best a clearance of 10’ 10”. Her best indoor showing came at the Nittany Lion Challenge, where she posted a clearance at 10’ 11.75” in a 6th place finish. Outdoors, she posted consecutive 9th place finishes with career best clearances of 11’ 3.75” at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational and the Cornell Outdoor Invitational. Golliday concluded her season at the Outdoor Heps, posting another 10’ 10” clearance in a 14th place finish.
Before Cornell
A state scorer and among the top pole vaulters in Illinois, Golliday jumped 12-0 feet for a fourth-place finish in her recent championships and is a many times conference, district and sectional champion.
Personal
Maya Danielle Golliday is the daughter of Keith and Barbara Golliday. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
