As a Freshman (2016-17)
• Competed in 13 meets as a freshman, including the indoor and outdoor Ivy League Track and Field Championships.
• Had 16 top 10 finishes and three individual and one relay first place.
• Indoors, won the 600 at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open (PR 1:37.78), the 300 at the Cornell Cabin Fever invitational (42.07) and the 500 at the Robert J. Kane invitational.
• Used a personal record in the 500 to finish fifth at indoor Heps (1:14.03).
• Outdoors, finished seventh in the 400 at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational with a personal best of 56.22 and was 14th in the event at outdoor Heps.
Before Cornell
• Garratt, a captain as a senior, was a three-time New York City Preparatory School league champion in the 55 meter, 200 meter, 300 meter and 400 meter dashes.
• Her team won the indoor league title in 2014, 2015, and 2016 and took the outdoor title in 2016.
• Was also captain of the volleyball team while in high school.
Personal
• Michelle Kathleen Garratt is the daughter of Rod and Jada Garratt.
• Her mother earned her undergraduate degree at Cornell and her father earned his masters and PhD at Cornell.
• She has one sister, Charlotte, and is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
