Pilipovic-Wengler was a four-year state qualifier and was a member of the 4x800m relay team that earned third place at the 2006 Nike Indoor Nationals.

Nevena John Pilipovic-Wengler is the daughter of John Wengler and Dragana Pilipovic and has a younger brother. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
