• Competing in shot put, she continuously improved throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons.
• Notched 10 top-five placements with a first-place finish at the Marc Deneault Invitational (2/16) and the Sunday Invitational (2/10).
• Finished seventh (shot put) at the Ivy League Indoor Championships (2/23-24).
• Earned eighth-place (shot put) at the Ivy League Outdoor Championships (5/4-5).
• Threw for the fifth-best throw in outdoor shot put in program history.
As a Sophomore (2017-18)
• Scored at both Indoor and Outdoor Heps in the shot put, taking sixth indoors (47-0 1/4) and sixth outdoors (44-9 1/2).
• Competed at the ECAC Outdoor Championships and took 16th (44-0 1/2).
• Recorded a season-best mark during outdoors (45-1 3/4) at the Titan Team Challenge to take runner-up honors.
• Season-best mark during indoors (47-6 1/2) came at the Upstate Challenge and was good for second.
• Competed in the hammer throw once, finishing 41st (94-0) at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
• Tallied 10 top-five finishes in the shot put.
As a Freshman (2016-17)
• Made an immediate impact on the Big Red throws squad in the shot put, earning nine top three finishes and 15 top 10 finishes overall while also finishing in the top 10 at both the indoor and outdoor Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
• Indoors, won the Southern Tier Collegiate Open and the Upstate Challenge before going on to finish third at indoor Heps with a personal best heave and second all-time indoor at Cornell of 48’1.25”.
• Outdoors, got a win in the shot put at the Transatlantic Series (44’6”) and used an outdoor best of 45’2.25” to score sixth place at outdoor Heps.
• Also had second place finishes at the Robert J. Kane Invitational, Cornell Cabin Fever Invitational and the Big Red Outdoor Invitational.
Before Cornell
• Placed seventh in the shot put at both the indoor and outdoor state meets in 2016 and finished 11
th in the shot put at nationals.
• In 2015, finished third and fourth in the shot put at the indoor and outdoor state meets, respectively.
• Also played four years of volleyball and was a two-time sectional champion.
• Served as class vice president and as the student council president while in high school.

• Nikolia Alexia Kanaris is the daughter of Emanuel and Panayiota Kanaris.
• She has one sister, Victoria.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
