At Cornell
Baird put together a most outstanding freshman year. She recorded a best of 8.88 at 60m hurdles, scoring at the Indoor Heptagonal Championships by finishing sixth with the ninth-best time in Cornell history. Outdoors, in more familiar territory, she put together an excellent season, contributing to the team's success not only in her specialty hurdles but also in making an impact on the 4x100m relay. She reached a collegiate best of 14.40 in the 100m hurdles, finishing fifth at the Outdoor Heptagonals and qualifying for the ECAC Championships. Her outdoor hurdle effort was the eighth-best ever at Cornell.
Baird followed up her strong freshman campaign by repeating her fifth-place finish at the Outdoor Heptagonals in the 100-meter hurdles her sophomore year . In her junior year, Baird once again hit her stride, placing fifth at the Indoor Heptagonals in the 60-meter hurdles. Later that year in the outdoor season at the Penn Relays, along with teammates Karen Schillinger, Lauren Tanz, and Danielle Silas, she helped to set a school record and a top ECAC mark in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 58.10, earning a coveted Penn Relays Wheel. Baird remains one of Cornell's top hurdlers and looks to continue her success in her senior year.
As a senior, Baird scored points for Cornell in the 60 hurdles at the Indoor Heps, placing third in a time of 8.74 seconds, a time that is fifth-best in school history. She followed that with an 18th-place finish at the preliminaries of the 60 hurdles at the ECAC Indoor Championships. Baird was part of Cornell's shuttle medley relay team at Penn Relays, placing fifth and finishing in a time that is third fastest in school history. At the Outdoor Heps, Baird once again scored points for the team when she took fourth in the 100 hurdles. She finished 17th in the same event's prelims at the ECAC Outdoor Championships. Her 14.13-second 100 hurdles is the fourth-best in Cornell history.
Before Cornell
Baird finished second in the 100m hurdles, 4x100m and 4x200m at the Colorado state track and field meet her senior year. She is a four-time Colorado regional track champion.
