Biography

As a Junior (2020-21)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 

As a Sophomore (2019-20)

• Became a two-time NCAA qualifier, earning the #4 seed at 197 pounds.
• Named a first team All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
• Named first team All-Ivy League at 197 pounds.
• EIWA Champion at 197, winning three matches via bonus points and going 4-0 overall.
• Went 28-6 overall with a 15-2 record at 197 pounds and a 13-4 mark at 184 pounds. One loss at 197 pounds was due to injury default.
• Moved back up to 197 pounds following a seventh-place finish at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas.
• Tied for second nationally in wins by fall with 14, finishing behind Northern Iowa's Jacob Schwarm (16).
• Took second place at Bearcat Open wrestling at 184 pounds and won the 184 pound bracket at the Cornell Open.
 

2018-19 season

• Missed the entire season due to injury.
 

As a Freshman (2017-18)

• Took sixth place at the NCAA Championships at 197 pounds, earning All-America status in the process.
• Ended his rookie year 34-4 with 26 bonus victories.
• Was a unanimous first-team All-Ivy League selection.
• Ranked as high as No. 1 in the country by a number of collegiate polls and entered the national semifinals with 31 consecutive wins.
• Earned his first EIWA championship with four straight victories, including two first period falls and a 10-0 major decision win over 13th-ranked Frank Mattiace of Penn in the finals.
• Went 6-3 against nationally-ranked opponents, including a 9-0 major decision victory over then-No. 2 Willie Miklus of Missouri and outscoring Penn’s Mattiace 18-1 in two late season matches, avenging his only collegiate loss.
• Took second at the Bearcat Open to behind his career, including a win over Penn State’s Shakur Rasheed.
• Also won the New York State Intercollegiate and the Cleveland State Open with four first period falls and a major decision victory.
• Set a school freshman record with 18 pins — 16 coming in the first period.
• Was a perfect 14-0 in dual meets. 
 

Prior to Cornell

• Was a two-time state champion at Elyria HS, helping the team to a pair of titles as well.
• Named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week after winning a national title at Fargo, earning tournament most outstanding wrestler.
• Was previously a two-time Fargo semifinalist.
• Invited to compete in the Wrestling USA Magazine Cliff Keen Dream Team Classic in 2016, earning a first period pin over the nation's No. 3 ranked wrestler.
• Was 18-4 while wrestling for the Finger Lakes Wrestling Club in 2016-17.
