Betsy Veysman began officially working for Cornell Wrestling in June of 2023, but provided volunteer assistance for many years before.
A 1999 graduate of Cornell University with a double major in Economics and Psychology, Betsy first got involved in wrestling as an undergrad at the Cornell Daily Sun, where she was Assistant Sports Editor as a junior and Sports Editor as a senior.
After graduation from college, she was a management consultant for McKinsey & Company and worked in finance in the pharmaceutical industry before returning to media.
She began the New York Wrestling News website in December 2011 and for almost six years ran the site as the primary editor, writer, photographer, and videographer. She won the Stanboro Media Award in 2018 from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Upstate New York Chapter. Throughout the years, Betsy has also created content published on Intermat, The Open Mat, Flowrestling, themat.com, the Spartan Combat RTC site, cornellbigred.com and more.
She spent two years as the Sports Information Director for the EIWA Conference before joining the Big Red staff.
Betsy is married to Cornell alum Boris and they have a son and a daughter.
