  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Rick Pflasterer is in his third season with the men's soccer staff after a successful career as goalkeeper of the Big Red from 2009-2012.

One of the best goaltenders in school history, Pflasterer played in 55 games over his four-year career and had a goals against average of 0.77, good for third all-time at Cornell. He saved nearly 80 percent of the shots he faced and had the second-most wins in school history with 28.

Pflasterer won all 15 games for the Big Red in 2012, helping the team to its first outright Ivy League championship since 1977, and aiding in turning around a team that went winless in Ivy League play just three years earlier.  His 0.60 goals against average in 2011 is tied for the best single season in school history. He was honored as the league’s First Team All-Ivy goalie his junior and senior seasons.

Pflasterer signed his first professional contract with the Syracuse Silver Knights of the Major Indoor Soccer League in 2013.

A native of Ann Arbor, Mich., Pflasterer graduated from Cornell in May of 2013 with degrees in Information Sciences and Sociology.
