PRIOR TO CORNELL

Cortez is a graduate of Gilroy High School in Gilroy, Calif. A native of Los Banos, Calif., he joins the Big Red after competing in one of the nation's premier high school wrestling programs.

He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell, pursuing a major in Economics.
