At Cornell
2007-08: During his senior campaign, Schiedel wrestled at the Buffalo Open and Brute Binghamton Open at 149 pounds. He picked up three wins, including a 16-0 tech fall over Ithaca’s Simon Ho at the Brute Binghamton Open.
2006-07: As a junior, Schiedel wrestled for the Big Red at 141 pounds at the UB Open, Body Bar Invitational, and New York State Championships. He recorded his first victory by fall at the UB Open, pinning Jamestown’s Josh Bryant in 1:40. He also notched his first major decision at the Body Bar Invitational.
2005-06: Schiedel went 1-2 at the Body Bar Invitational in the 141 weight class as a sophomore.
2004-05: Scheidel competed in one tournament during his freshman year in 2004-05, going 1-2 at the Nittany Lion Open. He provides depth at 141 pounds and will position himself for additional match time as a sophomore.
Prior to Cornell
Schiedel was a five-time letter winner at Caledonia-Mumford Central School for coaches John Wilber, Tim Harrington and Paul Day. He claimed the 2003 Section V championship in 2003 and was a two-time county champion in addtion to being named to the county all-star team three times.
Personal
Evan Edward Schiedel is the son of Edward and Colleen Schiedel and he is enrolled in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He has an older sister and a younger brother.
