Biography

As a junior (2016-17)
• Went 8-3 on the season while wrestling at 141 pounds.
• Placed third in the Open Division of the New York State Intercollegiates, going 6-1 and avenging his only loss in the third-place match.
• Was 2-2 at the Binghamton Open with wins over wrestlers from Rider and Army West Point.

As a sophomore (2015-16)
• Did not compete for the varsity.

As a freshman (2014-15)
• Higginbotham went 1-1 at the New York State Intercollegiates for his only action of the season.
• Won his first collegiate match at 149 pounds with a 4-1 sudden victory triumph over Brockport's Codie Gillette.

Prior to Cornell
• A two-time Georgia state champion, Higginbotham claimed a title at 132 pounds as a senior and at 106 pounds as a sophomore.
• The Henry Daily Herald Wrestler of the Year, Higginbotham went 58-3 during his senior season.
• He was third at the Georgia team state duals in 2012 and placed second in 2011.
• Higginbotham placed third overall in the state during his junior season while competing at 120 pounds.

• Clyde Griffin Higginbotham is the son of Jimmy Higginbotham and Shelly Gore and has two younger sisters and a younger brother.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
