Biography

As a sophomore (2016-17)
• Wrestled a pair of matches at the Binghamton Open, going 0-2 at heavyweight with a one-point loss and another in tiebreakers.

As a freshman (2015-16)
• Was 1-3 as a rookie, topping Penn State's Jan Johnson 3-2 at the Southern Scuffle in his first collegiate match.
• Dropped his second round match to fourth-ranked Austin Mardsen of Oklahoma State.
• Was 0-2 at the Shorty Hitchcock Invitational.

Prior to Cornell
• Richards was a three-time state place-winner while attending HS and St. Benedict's Prep.
• Finished third in the state in 2012.
• Earned prep nationals All-America honors in 2013 with a fourth-place finish.
• Also earned All-America accolades at Flo Nationals and Fargo.
• Served as team captain in 2012.

• McZiggy Omari Richards is the son of LuAnn Richards and has three older sisters and a younger brother.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
