Finished fifth at the NCAA Championships at 174 pounds to claim his first All-American honor… went 5-2 at the tournament… First Team All-Ivy… Ivy League Champion at 174… led the team in bonus point wins (16)… finished 26-7 overall and 10-2 in duals… beat six ranked opponents, #11 B. Cassella (Binghamton), #5 L. Pinto (Nebraska), #23 M. Singleton (NC State), #26 J. McGill (Columbia) and #10 N. Incontrera (Penn).

PRIOR TO CORNELL
Ruiz wrestled at his high school for four years where he won two NJSIAA State Championships.

Simon Reed Ruiz is the son of Robert and Caroline Ruiz and has an older sister ... he is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business.
