2025-26 | SOPHOMORE SEASON
Went 19-2 Overall... won 174 title at the Ivy League Tournament... named to First Team All-Ivy Honors... won Ivy League Athlete of the Week after knocking off two ranked opponents in duals vs NC State and Duke...qualified for NCAA Tournament... went 3-1 on the weekend.

2024-25 I FRESHMAN SEASON
Finished fifth at the NCAA Championships at 174 pounds to claim his first All-American honor… went 5-2 at the tournament… First Team All-Ivy… Ivy League Champion at 174…Ivy League Rookie of the Year... led the team in bonus point wins (16)… finished 27-7 overall and 10-2 in duals… beat six ranked opponents prior to the NCAA Tournament, #11 B. Cassella (Binghamton), #5 L. Pinto (Nebraska), #23 M. Singleton (NC State), #26 J. McGill (Columbia) and #10 N. Incontrera (Penn).

PRIOR TO CORNELL
Ruiz wrestled at his high school for four years where he won two NJSIAA State Championships.

Simon Reed Ruiz is the son of Robert and Caroline Ruiz and has an older sister ... he is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business.
