Qualified for the NCAA Championships but couldn’t compete due to injury… finished the season 14-9… earned second-team All-Ivy honors… took 8th place at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite

2022-23 I FRESHMAN SEASON
Named the Ivy League and EIWA Rookie of the Year ... EIWA champion at 141 pounds after winning three matches by fall and by major decision in the finals against Penn's Carmen Ferrante ... kicked off his career with a tournament title at the Bearcat Open ... went 2-2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational ... was 1-2 at the NCAA Championships ... unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection after going 3-0 vs. conference foes ... won 11 bonus point matches, including five by fall.

PRIOR TO CORNELL
Was a four-time state champion at Monarch HS in Colorado while wrestling at 106, 113, 126 and 138 pounds ... U20 freestyle World Team member in 2022, placing fifth .. named the state's Class 5A Wrestler of the Year in each of his final two seasons ... three-time high school All-American ... posted a 123-9 career record ... winner of the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award in 2021 ... four-time all-state and academic all-state.

PERSONAL
Robert Vincenzo Cornella is the son of Chris and Christy Cornella and has two younger sisters ... he is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business.
