Biography

At Cornell
2010-11
Phipps competed at the Mat Town Open at Lock Haven in late November, registering a 2-2 record.  He defeated both Stephen Doty of Virginia and Shawn Fausey of Drexel by decision.

2009-10
Phipps did not see varsity action at 157 pounds.

2008-09
Phipps opened his collegiate career with a 5-0 win over Liberty’s Josh Duren at the Body Bar Invitational. He also wrestled for the Big Red at the Penn State Invitational and Southern Scuffle at 165 pounds.

Prior to Cornell
Phipps is a two-time Nebraska state champion, and three-time state medalist. He was a national Coca Cola scholarship recipient and was a member of the National Honor Society. Phipps also played football at Kearney HS. 

Personal
Warner Lee Phipps is the son of William and Robin Phipps and has two brothers and a sister. He is studying development sociology in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
