Biography

As a senior (2018-19)

• Posted a 6-5 record at 149 pounds with a win by fall and another by tech fall.
• Took second at the season-opening Binghamton Open before suffering an injury that caused him to miss nearly three months.
• Was 2-1 at the Edinboro Open with wins over wrestlers from Michigan and Pittsburgh.
• His final two losses came to wrestlers ranked in the top four nationally.
 

As a junior (2017-18)

• Named to the All-Ivy League second team on the strength of his 4-1 conference dual meet record.
• Was 9-6 on the season, earning his second straight EIWA appearance after taking over as the starter at 149 pounds.
• Won his first match at EIWAs as the No.2 seed before being forced to injury default out of the tournament,
• Four of his losses came to wrestlers ranked in the top 16 in the country (two by a takedown or less)
• Topped No. 19 Cortlandt Schuyler of Lehigh 4-1 in the Big Red’s dual win over the Mountain Hawks.
 

As a sophomore (2016-17)

• Posted an 18-16 record in his first full season as a starter at 141 pounds.
• Won 10 matches with bonus points and was 5-10 in dual meets.
• Claimed his first New York State Intercollegiate title, picking up a 15-0 tech fall over Binghamton's Joseph Russ in the finals.
• Took third at the Binghamton Open, going 6-1.
• Topped No. 19 Joey Palmer of Oregon State in the first round of the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
• Was 1-2 at the EIWA Championship after picking up a tech fall victory in the first round.
• Seven of his losses came to top 20 wrestlers and seven more came by a takedown or less.
• Earned a win over Connor Burkert of Hofstra in the first match fo the Grapple at the Garden.
 

As a freshman (2015-16)

• Went 15-7 as a rookie, capturing seven of his victories with bonus points attached.
• Was 1-1 in dual meets, including a tech fall victory over Anthony Canfora of Drexel.
• Placed second at the New York Intercollegiates at 141 pounds, droppign a 7-6 contest to teammate Dylan Realbuto in the finals.
• Won eight matches en route to a fifth-place finish at the Binghamton Open.
• Earned his first collegiate win by fall in just 64 seconds against Lock Haven's Ronnie Perry.
• Also wrestled in the Nittany Open and the Southern Scuffle.
• Four of his seven losses came by a single point.
• Missed the final two months of the season due to injury.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Koll was a three-time New York state champion at Lansing HS.
• Won state titles as a freshman, junior and senior.
• He also won a pair of Greco-Roman junior national titles.
• Took bronze at Fargo in Greco-Roman in 2013.
• Was a five-year member of the varsity team and served as captain as a senior.
 

Personal

• William Henry Koll is the son of Rob and Rachel Koll and has a younger brother.
• Will wrestle for his father for the Big Red.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
