Kevin Turi joined the Cornell Athletics compliance staff in July 2026 as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.
Turi arrived at Cornell after a year at Syracuse University, where he served as Assistant Director of Athletic Compliance from 2025-26. Prior to Syracuse, he spent more than two years at Le Moyne College, first as the department's Athletic Video Production and Creative Content Coordinator before transitioning into athletic compliance as an NCAA Compliance Coordinator. He began his career in college athletics at Bryant & Stratton College as an Athletic Admissions Representative and Sports Information Director.
Turi earned his Master of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership from Le Moyne College in 2025 and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Administration and Management from Ithaca College in 2020.
In this role, Turi assists with rules interpretations, rules violation investigations, and the drafting and submission of waivers, conducting research through NCAA and Ivy League manuals, interpretations, case precedents, educational columns, and other resources within LSDBi and RSRO. He facilitates the eligibility certification process for incoming student-athletes — both transfers and first-years — as well as continuing eligibility for returning student-athletes, working closely with the eligibility liaisons in the Office of the University Registrar, coaches and student-athletes to communicate and resolve eligibility concerns.
Turi serves as the department's primary administrator for its compliance software, Teamworks Eligibility & Recruiting, overseeing enhancements to its features and troubleshooting issues as they arise. He also reviews recruiting and CARA activity flagged by the platform and partners with functional areas throughout the department — including the Ticket Office, Sports Communication and Strength & Conditioning — as well as offices across campus, such as the Registrar's Office, to ensure compliance with the NCAA's, Ivy League's and ECAC's ever-changing rules and regulations.
Turi supports the creation and continued improvement of Cornell's institutional compliance protocols and procedures. He maintains the Athletic Compliance Office's written educational materials, website content, policies and procedures, and distributes timely updates and guidance to coaches and athletic department staff. He also leads educational sessions and training for coaches, student-athletes and alumni groups, and fields day-to-day questions from department constituents on NCAA, Ivy League and ECAC rules.
Turi serves as Cornell's institutional Transfer Portal Contact, managing the entry of student-athletes into the Transfer Portal during applicable windows, updating participation information, and coordinating with other institutions on incoming transfer information. He additionally supports the department's Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) efforts by reviewing student-athlete disclosures to ensure proposed NIL deals align with Cornell's NIL policy and do not jeopardize eligibility.
