Shaela Krayer enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Cornell women's soccer team after joining the program on Jan. 22, 2024.
Arriving on East Hill after a three-year tenure at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Krayer was an assistant coach on the Brewers' coaching staff for two seasons before being elevated to associate head coach for the 2023 campaign. In addition to her coaching duties, Krayer was an athletic facilities assistant for Vassar's athletic department.
While at Vassar, the Brewers compiled a 25-16-11 record (.587) and a pair of trips to the Liberty League Championships in her first two seasons. Over the last two seasons, Vassar held the opposition to a combined 20 goals allowed under Krayer's direction.
Before her time at Vassar, Krayer served as the head coach and director of junior development for Park City Soccer Club in Park City, Utah, coaching two elite teams, overseeing the development of all junior-aged teams, and supervising the implementation of club programs, including training for goalkeepers.
Also at the collegiate ranks, Krayer served as an assistant coach and goalkeeping coach at Stevenson University (Owings Mills, Md.) and Southern Maine Community College (South Portland, Maine).
With Stevenson, she assisted in player evaluation, training sessions, video review and analysis, scouting report reviews, and recruiting. In her first season with the Mustangs, the team posted a .824 save percentage. At Southern Maine Community College, Krayer helped guide the team to the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) playoffs in both seasons while on the Seawolves' staff.
Krayer, who holds a USSF 'B' license, played collegiate soccer at USC Aiken, a Division II program, before transferring to George Mason, where she graduated with her bachelor's degree. While at Vassar, Krayer earned a master of arts in coaching and leadership.
