At Cornell: Upon his arrival to East Hill, Tom oversaw the merging of the Athletics and Student & Campus Life Development operations, where he leads the Alumni Affairs & Development team and serves as the Chief Development Officer for the division of Student & Campus Life, including varsity athletics and physical education. 

Since his arrival to Cornell in January ’22, Tom has built a high-achieving team that has surpassed current campaign goals for Athletics & Student Campus Life, representing more than $300M raised through more than 54,000 donors as part of the To Do the Greatest Good Campaign. Under Tom’s leadership, Athletics & Student Campus Life has set records including raising nearly $60M during the 2025 fiscal year. 

Tom is leading the fundraising efforts for the Meinig Fieldhouse Project; the 91,950 square-foot facility broke ground in Fall 2024 with opening planned for 2026.

Prior to Cornell: Tom worked at Binghamton University leading several units on campus, first as the Director of Recruitment for Undergraduate Admissions & Enrollment Management, and then as the Senior Director of Development in the Advancement Division. His role at Binghamton included directing the Principal Gifts team, leading the Regional Development team, and served as the Chief Development Officer for the Department of Athletics. During Tom’s tenure, he secured the largest gift in Binghamton’s history ($75M), led teams that set records in total dollars & donors, and helped launch the largest comprehensive university-wide fundraising campaign in the school’s history.

Of Note: During his undergraduate years he was a member of the Division I baseball team and three-year captain.

Personal: Gaube and his wife, Nina have a daughter, Claire (11), and son Hudson (4)
