ITHACA, N.Y. -- With Lynah Rink and Newman Arena expected to be packed with two of the biggest events of the Cornell athletic calendar on Friday night, fans attending either the men's ice hockey game against Harvard or the wrestling match against Penn State are asked to expect large crowds at both venues less than 300 feet from each other. Here are some important items to keep in mind before heading to campus on Friday night.
* Tickets for the hockey game will not allow fans access into the wrestling match, and vice versa.
* Parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The Crescent parking lot will only be available to hockey season-ticket holders who have purchased a parking pass, while the Bartels Hall pay lot and the visitor parking lot behind the Friedman Wrestling Center will only be available to wrestling ticket holders who have purchased a pass for those lots.
* Fans are recommended to use the Hoy Road parking garage or the Kite Hill lot in front of the Friedman Wrestling Center (click here to view map ... http://www.parking.cornell.edu/pdf/FSmap.pdf).
* Fans with limited mobility are asked to follow signs posted along Campus Road directing them to handicapped parking areas adjacent to both Lynah Rink and to Newman Arena.
* Plan to arrive early for the games, particularly for the hockey game vs. Harvard, as additional security measures are being taken to minimize the smuggling of fish into the rink. Entry will take longer than normal.
For information on purchasing tickets, call the Big Red Athletic Ticket Office at (607) 254-2327 or visit the ticket office on the first floor of Bartels Hall during normal business hours (10 a.m.- 5 p.m. weekdays or 1.5 hours prior to the games).
