ITHACA, N.Y.—Cornell sophomore wrestler Mack Lewnes has been named the EIWA Wrestler of the Week after pinning three of his opponents on his way to his second-straight Body Bar Invitational title. Lewnes is a perfect 11-0 for the season.
Lewnes (Annapolis, Md.) is currently ranked as the No. 1 wrestler in the country at 165 pounds. The All-American has earned bonus points in all 10 of his tournament matches this season, with seven pins and three major decisions. Lewnes opened his season winning the title at the Brute Binghamton Open. In his second season with Cornell, he boasts a 47-5 career record.
The Big Red will break for the Thanksgiving holiday, but will return to action Dec. 5-6 when it travels to Nevada for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
