Women's Swimming WIns Six Events In Dual Meet With Colgate

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's swimming and diving team captured six events wins in dropping a tight 169-129 decision to Colgate on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Pool. Freshman Emily Dean won one event and was second in two others to lead the Cornellians in the pool.
Dean captured the 100 back event in 59.88, edging out Colgate's Emily Murphy and Big Red teammate Heather Miller. She also was the runner-up in the 200 back (2:08.64), and also in the 100 butterfly (1:00.12), where she placed behind event winner and teammate Lyla Youssef (59.86).
Christina DiMaria was first in the 200 fly, touching the wall in 2:09.10, edging out Colgate's Erin McGraw (2:09.14). Sadie Ellison sprinted to a victory in the 50 free in 25.10, while Katy Aden won both diving events, the 1-meter (217.95) and 3-meter (219.00).
Cornell will swim Columbia on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 3:30 p.m. at Teagle Pool.
