* Ivy League Match Play Event bracket

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell will take part in the first-ever Ivy League Match Play Event contest beginning on Saturday, Oct. 17 at The Bay Club in Mattapoisett, Mass. The format will be a team match play event with five players from each team competing head-to-head with the scoring going hole-by-hole, not total strokes. The first team to win three of the head-to-head matches will win that competition for the team and move on in the bracket.  There is a back draw as well, to place all eight teams 1-8. Princeton University will serve as the host. The par-71 course plays at more than 7,000 yards.

The Big Red will open match play against Penn on Saturday at the first tee at 7:45 a.m., with the winner facing the winner of the Dartmouth-Harvard match beginning at 1:10 p.m. The losers of those matches will also start at 1:10 p.m. beginning on the 10th tee.

The other first round matches will be Columbia-Brown and Yale-Princeton. The tournament championship will be played on Sunday at 8:25 a.m.
