HANOVER, N.H. - The Cornell men's tennis team travelled to Hanover, N.H., on Friday to take part in the Wilson/ITA East Championships at Dartmouth's Boss Tennis Center. The event ran through today and Andy Gauthier shined, advancing to the semifinals. 

Tournament Highlights

* In the Main Singles 1-32, Andy Gauthier advanced out of the round of 128 to reach the semifinals on Tuesday morning where he fell to gold medal winner, Sven Vloedgraven (Binghamton), 7-6 (4), 6-3. After a bye in the opening round, Gauthier defeated Daniel Hoffman (Yale), 6-4, 6-2, Mike Laser (Dartmouth), 6-0, 6-3, Daniel Freeman (Dartmouth), 6-4, 6-1 and Ivan Rummel (Stony Brook), 6-1, 6-4.

* In the Main Singles 33-64, John Fife advanced to the Round of 16. After a bye in the first round, Fife defeated Mike Lampa (St. John's), 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 and Connor Dawson (Yale), 6-4, 7-6 (9).

* In the Main Singles 65-96, Jeremy Feldman advanced to the Round of 32. After a bye in the first round, Feldman defeated Nikoloz Kundadze (Drexel), 6-2, 6-4, before falling to Calvin Bennett (Yale).

* In the Main Singles 97-128, Jon Jaklitsch advaced to the Round of 32. After a bye in the first round, Jaklitsch defeated Curtis Roby (Dartmouth, 6-2, 6-2, before falling to Josh Tchan (Harvard).

* In the Main Singles 97-128, Mirza Klis fell in the round of 64 to Josh Tchan (Harvard). In the opening round, Klis defeated David Lemieuz-Sarrasin (Niagara), 6-3, 6-4.

* In the Main Singles 97-128, Evan Bernstein fell in the round of 64 to Haig Schneiderman (Columbia), 7-6 (3), 6-3. In the opening round, Bernstein defeated Jon Schroeder (Boston College) 7-5, 6-3.
