ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's polo team will hit the road for a pair of matches against Eastern Regional opponents, visiting Harvard and Connecticut. The Big Red will attempt to build on its 3-0 start and is coming off a 17-14 win last weekend at defending national champion Virginia. Cornell will face the Crimson on Friday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Myopia Outdoor Arena, then heads to face the Huskies on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Horsebarn Hill Arena.
Cornell had a pair of wins over Harvard in 2008-09 and posted four wins over the Huskies a year ago during its 22-1 campaign. The Big Red outscored the Crimson 39-11 in those two wins and now leads the all-time series 8-0. Head coach David Eldredge's squad won three contests against the Huskies by a combined score of 61-28 and also took home a forfeit victory in the finals of the Eastern Regional championships. Cornell leads the all-time series against UConn 65-33-1.
In the team's three wins this season, Lizzie Wisner has 38 goals in the two Big Red victories, including 11 against Virginia, while Ali Hoffman has 10 total goals on the year. Jess Cross is third on the team in scoring with eight goals, while both Kayleigh Sullivan and Claire Glashan each have seven scores.
