ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell swimming and diving teams completed the fall semester the right way, each knocking off Binghamton on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Pool. The men improved to 3-2 with a 163-128 victory, while the women surpassed last year's win total by moving to 2-3.

The women's team won 13 of the 16 contested events to improve on last year's 1-9 record, improving to 11-0 all-time against the Bearcats. The 200 medley relay team of Chiara Spinazzola, Juliann Rienecker, Emily Dean and Jill Berlin finished first in 1:49.13 as the teams split the relay crowns. Laura Acchone (1,000 free in 10:59.38), Kimber Summers in the 200 free (1:57.40), Meg Farrington in the 100 back (1:00.77), Jessie Holley in the 100 breast (1:08.08), Spinazzola in the 200 fly (2:08.92), 200 back (2:06.64) and 200 IM (2:10.49), Berlin in the 50 free (25.03), Rienecker in the 200 breast (2:28.39) and Allysia Stover in the 500 free (5:19.99) each won events.

In diving action, Jen Park won the 1-meter (215.31) and 3-meter (246.52) competitions on the women's side, while Jonathan Zollo also won the 1-meter (273.89) and 3-meters (266.33).

The men also won 13 events on Saturday. Starting it off was the 200 medley relay squad of Jacob Sangren, Jake Fisher, Nick Campbell and Sasha Dobrolioubov in 1:34.21, and ended with the 200 free relay of Steven Kwartler, Kevin Brazitis, James Keady and Chris Keady (1:25.47) capturing a win. Dean Holcomb won the 1,000 free (9:55.70) and 200 IM (1:55.29), Fisher captured the 100 breast (58.49), Michael Cai won the 200 fly (1:53.72) and 500 free (4:44.86), James Keady won the 50 free (21.37), Eric Gaffey touched first in the 100 free (48.08), Eric Anderson hit the wall first in the 200 back (1:56.49) and Julian Chan won the 200 breast (2:08.79).

The men's team will next be in action on Jan. 10 at Yale beginning with diving at 11 a.m. and swimming at 1 p.m.
