ITHACA, N.Y. -- Two weeks into the season, the undefeated women's lacrosse team has put the clamps down on the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week award. Junior goalkeeper Kristen Reese captured her second career award after playing a key role in this past weekend's win at No. 20 Hofstra. Senior Deirdre Lafferty took home the league's initial award on March 2.

Reese was outstanding in the Big Red's 13-10 win at Hofstra, collecting a career-high 14 saves to stone a Pride offense averaging nearly 14 goals per outing. Reese made saves on Hofstra's first three shots to set the tone and made seven saves in each half to help the Big Red remain unbeaten at 3-0. Reese saved two free-position attempts and had five of her second half saves come with the game in jeopardy, including four with the contest tied. Through three games, Reese has posted a 7.59 goals against average and a .510 save percentage while playing all 190 minutes in goal.

Reese and the Big Red return to action for its final non-conference test before opening Ivy League play when it meets Central New York foe LeMoyne on Wednesday, March 11 at 4 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field.
