ITHACA, N.Y. – The Tewaaraton Award Foundation has announced its nominees for the 2009 Tewaaraton Trophy and for the second year in a row Cornell men's lacrosse players John Glynn and Max Seibald are among the list of candidates. The Tewaaraton acknowledges the top men's lacrosse player in the nation and is voted upon by coaches. Five finalists will be chosen later in the season.

Glynn, a two-time All-American selection for the Big Red, has been a force on the midfield all year long, ranking second on the team with eight assists and fourth on the squad with 23 points. He registered his 100th career point earlier this season and despite fracturing his elbow three weeks ago, continues to be one of the dominant face-off men in the country, ranking fourth in win percentage (.618) and eighth in ground balls per game (6.33).

Seibald is a three-time All-American and was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy as a sophomore in 2007. One of the premier players in the nation, he ranks second on the team with 20 goals and third overall with 28 points. Seibald also owns the third longest point-scoring streak in the nation, having registered at least one point in his last 44 games. He has also registered 28 ground balls and won 15-of-32 face-offs (.469).
