Cornellians Conclude Competition At National Track Championships
Uceny
EUGENE, Ore. -- The USA and Canadian Track and Field Championships concluded on Sunday in Eugene, Ore., and Toronto, Ontario, with more fine performances  by Cornellians.

In Eugene, Morgan Uceny '07 had the finest race of her 2009 outdoor season, placing sixth in the 800 final in 2:01.32.  Closing well over the final 200 meters, Uceny has fully recovered from the injuries that hampered her training earlier in the year and is poised for more racing in Europe later this summer.

In the women's long jump, Jeomi Maduka '09 represented Cornell one more time and closed out her career in style, placing 9th (improving on her 12th place finish from the 2008 US Olympic Trials) with a leap of 20-5 3/4.

In the men's high jump, Garrett Huyler '09 closed out his tremendous career with a 10th place finish, clearing the opening height of 7-0 1/2.

At the Canadian National Championships in Toronto, Amber McGown '05 ran 4:21.55 in the 1500 prelims on Saturday and then placed 9th in Sunday's final with a 4:26.29 performance.
