ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell volleyball team won its second straight match at the Binghamton Invitational, sweeping past Towson 3-0 on Saturday morning at West Gymnasium. The Big Red improved to 2-3 with the victory and will face Binghamton on Saturday evening with a chance to clinch the tournament title.
The Big Red out-hit the Tigers .207-.090 in picking up the 25-13, 35-20, 25-20 triumph. Freshman
Deveney Pula had a match-high 12 kills and added eight digs, while
Juliana Rogers totalled nine kills on .533 hitting and chipped in four digs.
Jordan Reeder had 33 assists and seven digs, while both
Megan Mushovic (14) and
Risa Ka'awa (12) both reached double figures in digs.
Alice Cope and
Alessa Cekauskas combined for 11 kills in the win.
Shelynne Hoyt led the Tigers with seven kills on 14 swings, but the rest of the team hit just .030 in the loss. Missy Rohrbaugh had 13 digs for Towson.
