ITHACA, N.Y. -- When the Cornell men's hockey team plays at Quinnipiac on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, the Big Red will do so in front of a nationally televised audience, as CBS College Sports will broadcast the game as part of its national college hockey package, the network confirmed on Tuesday.
To accommodate the nationally televised broadcast, the time of the game will be moved from its originally scheduled 7 p.m. start to a special 8 p.m. puck drop.
The televised game against Quinnipiac is the first announced television game for the Big Red for the 2009-10 season. Last season, the Big Red played in a total of 12 televised games, going 8-4 in those contests.
Cornell opens the 2009-10 season with an exhibition game against the University of Windsor at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at Lynah Rink. The regular-season opener will be a week later when Cornell plays host to Niagara in a 7 p.m. contest.
