ITHACA, N.Y. -- Students wishing to secure season tickets for the 2009-10 Cornell men's ice hockey season can now pick up a line number at the Athletic Ticket Office in Bartels Hall. Line numbers will be available during business hours (10 a.m - 5 p.m.) through Friday, Sept. 25.
Due to the uncertainty of availability of the Ramin Room for the annual overnight camp-out for seat selection, the camp-out is being placed on a one-year hiatus. Accordingly, the process for students to select their seats has been modified slightly. Seat selection will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3.
This year's ticket process includes more blocks of tickets for undergraduate students. Each student may purchase one season ticket, with this year's season tickets costing $247.
The ticket blocks and order in which seats will be selected is as follows:
- Graduate and Professional students: 250 tickets in a specific block (in sections B, D & G).
- Undergrads participating in the ticket selection process for the fourth time: 100 tickets.
- Undergrads participating in the ticket selection process for the third time: 300 tickets.
- Undergrads participating in the ticket selection process for the second time: 400 tickets.
- Undergrads participating in the ticket selection process for the first time: 550 tickets.
Students eligible for blocks 2-4 may also enter the block 5 lottery to increase their chances of securing season tickets. Upon registering by presenting a valid Cornell ID at the ticket window, students will receive a line number form. Student groups (friends, clubs, etc.) that want to purchase seats near each other should come to the Athletic Ticket Office together to obtain consecutive numbers. A student MAY register for a line number for another student by presenting the second student's ID at the ticket office window when registering.
After Sept. 25 a random drawing will be conducted by members of the Student Assembly or Student Marketing Group. One number for each block of seats will be drawn. The drawing will determine the range of line numbers that are eligible to purchase season tickets. The four numbers drawn will identify the beginning of the range of eligible line numbers in each block of seats. The ranges of line numbers for each block eligible to purchase tickets will be posted on CornellBigRed.com during the week of September 27. A waiting list will also be established for each block of tickets. The waiting list will begin with the line number that immediately follows the last eligible line number in each block of tickets.
Seat selection will take place in Bartels Hall on Oct. 3. Tickets will be selected as follows:
9:00-10:30 a.m. - Graduate and professional students will choose seats among the 250 assigned graduate seats
9:00-9:30 a.m. - Undergrad Block 1
9:30-11:00 a.m. - Undergrad Block 2
11:00-12:30 p.m. - Undergrad Block 3
12:30-2:30 p.m. - Undergrad Block 4
Students with better line numbers are welcome to wait and select seats with students that have a later line pick, but not vice-versa! A Student may select seats for another student(s) if he/she has the other student(s') line number form(s) AND the other student(s) ID card.
