ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell junior Jon Thomson has been invited to the Team Canada men's lacrosse selection camp. Thomson was a late addition to the tryout list, as his teammate
Michael Howe was selected to the camp two weeks ago. The camp will determine the roster that will represent Canada at the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships. The tryouts will take place from Friday, Oct. 9 through Monday, Oct. 12, at St. Michaels College School in Toronto, Ontario.
Thompson took a big leap in his sophomore season, moving onto the second midfield line. He played in 12 games and registered five goals and two assists for seven points on the year. Thompson also picked up three ground balls and caused one turnover. He tallied a career-best two points vs. Princeton in the NCAA quarterfinals with a goal and an assist. He also had a goal against the Tigers in the regular season, as well as Dartmouth, Hobart and Virginia in the national semifinal game.
