Men’s Lacrosse Names All-Decade Team

ITHACA, N.Y. – it was quite a decade for the Big Red men's lacrosse team. The program won seven Ivy League championships and advanced to the NCAA Final Four twice, including an appearance in last year's national championship game. During the span from 2000-2009, Cornell compiled a 107-38 record overall (50-10 Ivy), had 39 All-American honors, 37 first-team All-Ivy selections, four Ivy Players of the Year, three Ivy Rookies of the Year, one Tewaaraton Trophy winner, one USILA National Player of the Year, two USILA National Midfielders of the Year, one USILA National Defender of the Year and one USILA National Goalie of the Year.

The past 10 years has seen a resurgence of one of the greatest programs in the history of collegiate lacrosse, as some of the best players in school history have passed through East Hill in the last decade.

With that in mind, the Cornell men's lacrosse coaching staff decided to name an All-Decade team, based on votes from a select group of the program's alumni, family, friends and support staff.

“It was enjoyable to look back at the past decade and remember all of the players who contributed along the way,” said head coach Jeff Tambroni. “It has also been an honor and a privilege to coach this group that represents not only themselves, but their teammates, in the tradition of Cornell Lacrosse.”
