NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Cornell won the last five individual events and held off a Columbia win in the final relay to capture a 152-148 victory over the Lions on Saturday afternoon at the Uris Swimming Center. The Big Red improved to 6-2 (4-2 Ivy) with the victory.
* Michael Sheppard (285.23) and Jonathan Zollo (279.08) led a 2-3 charge for the Big Red divers in the 3-meter competition, while Sheppard finished third in the 1-meter (269.18) to scored three big team points.
* Dean Holcomb finished first in the 200 free (1:41.67), the 200 fly (1:52.08) and the 500 free (4:38.77).
* Chris Keady placed second in the 200 free 1:42.40 and won the 200 back (152.34).
* Freshman Jake Sangren touched first in the 100 back (51.66).
* Sophomore Michael Cai won the 100 (57.70) and 200 (2:04.38) breast and the 200 IM (1:51.37).
* Senior Sasha Dobrolioubov led a 2-3-4 Big Red sweep in the 50 free in 21.39, then placed second in the 100 free (46.75).
* James Keady won the 100 fly (50.95).
* Overall, Cornell won nine of 12 individual swimming events.
The Big Red returns to action on Feb, 6 when it meets Brown at 11 a.m. at Teagle Pool.
