Women's Lacrosse Continues To Lead With Community Service

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's lacrosse team, already well-known for its service to the Ithaca community with events such as the annual Dodgeball Tournament fundraiser, recently participated in a charity event with Feed My Starving Children.

"The goal of the two-day event was to pack 150,000 meals for children in need of food around the world. In our two hour shift we packed enough meals to feed 44 children for an entire year," said junior Olivia Knotts. "The meals we packed as a team are going to be sent directly to Haiti. It is great knowing we made a difference and we can't wait to participate again next year."

Last season alone, the Cornell women's lacrosse team gave a clinic to inner city youth as part of the Rusty Red Fall Lax Classic in Brooklyn, participated in the National Girls and Women in Sports Day and ran another successful Dodgeball Tournament to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
